There was plenty of offense on the softball diamond at the Billy Kiersey Complex Monday night as the Lady Bearcats beat Dardanelle 16-11.
Of the 18 starters in the game, only one player was not credited with a base hit and only three were not able to make their way around the bases to score a run.
Dardanelle got it started with a three-run home run three batters into the game.
After Torie Nobles was able to retire the side without further damage, the Lady Bearcats (3-0) batted around in the bottom of the inning and took a 4-3 lead.
Peighton Montalvo drove in the first two, Farrah Stringer was hit by a pitch to force in the tying run and Presley Walker gave the Lady Bearcats the lead.
Two innings later it was 14-3.
Cam Parish singled home one, Stringer doubled home one , and Shelbie Myers (shown) singled home another in the second to make it 7-3.
In the third it was Montalvo reaching on a ground ball that would score two, Stringer driving in one with a ground ball, Myers forcing in a run with a walk, Walker with a two run single, and Ellie Smith getting a run scoring single for a seven-run frame.
Dardanelle got three runs back in the fourth and two in the fifth. Having retired the Lady Bearcats without a run in their fourth, the Lady Sand Lizards were within 14-8.
The Lady Bearcats were also quiet in the bottom of the fifth but Roni Tillery and Montalvo provided some scoring insurance with RBIs in the sixth to make it 16-8.
Dardanelle cut it to 16-11 in the seventh but Makinley Ensey was able to close it out for the Lady Bearcats.
The Lady Bearcats will be back in action today at 4:30 p.m. at Dover.
