Warren, Bearcats Win Bearcat Relays

With Hunter Warren involved in four first place finishes, the Booneville Bearcats won seven events on their way to a meet win in Bearcat Relays Monday night.

Warren accounted for the meet high point award with 25 of the Bearcat total of 143.5 which was well clear of runner-up Lamar’s 89.

Warren won the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of 11.02 and 23.53. He also ran a leg of the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relay which won with times of 45.0 and 1:35.27.

There were also three field event wins by Bearcats with Devon Ritchie winning the long jump at 21’ 9”, Dakota Safford winning the pole vault at 11’ 6”, and Aiden Fox taking the shot put with a distance of 42’ 6”.

Ritchie added a second place finish in the triple jump at 41’ 9”, Damari Poole was second in the shot put at 41’ 1”, and Conner Droemer was second in the 200-meter dash at 24.15.

Placing third were Dakota Mattson in the 100-meter dash (11.45), and Wesley Fonseca in the high jump (5’9”).

In fourth place were the 4x400-meter relay team and Mattson in the high jump (5’ 8.5”).

Taking fifth were Chase Shelton in both the 400-meter dash (57.89), and the long jump (14’ 9.5”), and Poole in the discus (98’ 5”).

Sixth place finishes were by Ritchie in the 400 (58.15), Josh Redmon in the discus (96’ 6”) and the 4x800-meter relay team of Parker Smith, Brenden Hubble, Levi McMaster, and Nathan Hicks.

Smith was seventh in the 800-meter run (2:24.21) and Cooper Lentz was seventh in the 3200-meter run (14:13).

Oliver Loaeza took eighth in both the 110- and 300-hurdle events with times of 19.53 and 49.97 and Blade Petchenik was eighth in the pole vault at 9 feet.

Lady Bearcats

Vanessa O’Neal won the 800-meter run, clocking a 2:47.52, and the Lady Bearcat 4x100-meter relay team also won their event with a time of 56.70 in the girls division.

Placing second were Baylee Parnell in the 300-meter hurdles (53.39) and the 4x200-meter relay team.

Twice Presley Walker was third, in the long jump (15’ 4”) and the 100-meter dash (13.58), and Abi Schlup was third in the 800 (2:50.77).

The 4x400-meter relay team was fourth, as was Parnell in the high jump (4’ 4”).

Walker earned a 5th in the triple jump at 28’ 11” and in sixth were O’Neal in the 100 (14.01) and Laci Cibik in the high jump (4’ 1”). Cibik added a seventh in the 400 (1:14.12).
