Cedarville recorded the first out of the game on the 13th Bearcat hitter Friday afternoon at the Billy Kiersey Baseball/Softball Complex.

The out came on a fly ball off the bat of Casey Carter, which drove in the 10th run of the inning. The Bearcats (5-4, 2-1 Conference 3A-4) would score 16 times in the inning and go on to win the game 19-0.

A base on balls had been issued to Rhett Nietert, Carter, and Hayden Daniels; Dylan Todd and Jace Washburn had doubles, and Cutler Haller was hit by a pitch before the first opportunity for an out, but the Pirates committed their first of six errors on a ground ball.

Noah Harrel followed with the third double of the inning and Nietert’s second plate appearance would be a triple. Todd walked and Washburn was hit by a pitch before Carter’s run scoring fly ball.

After the second complete trip through the order the score was 14-0 as Harrel drove in his third run of the inning, and head coach Arron Kimes went to his bench.

Kass DuPree reached on an error that allowed a run to score and Hunter Warren grounded out but drove in a run before the inning finally ended.

By the end of the day reserves Sadler Miller, Xander Miller, Rylie Swint, and Dakota Fonseca (shown) logged their first hits of the season and Sadler Miller, and Ashton Lyle joined Warren with an initial career RBI.

Nietert (1-2) got the win in the four inning affair. He was perfect through 11 hitters but surrendered a single to right-center in the fourth. He struck out seven.

The Bearcats, who were 3-0 during the week while scoring 49 runs, are now off until March 31 when they host Bigelow.
