Jace Washburn homered, doubled and drove in five runs in a 13-3 six inning Bearcat win over Bigelow Monday at the Billy Kiersey Complex.
Washburn hit a two-run first inning home run to give the Bearcats a 2-1 lead and he delivered a bases clearing double in a six run sixth that ended it early. He scored the final run on one of eight Panther errors.
Washburn also drew the start but gave way after allowing three runs in the first two innings.

A pair of two-out singles drove in Panther runs in the second and it was 3-2.
Rhett Nietert relieved Washburn and over three innings allowed no runs on three hits, while striking out three and walking none.
For Nietert (2-2) that runs a consecutive inning shutout streak to nine dropping his ERA to 3.43.
Nietert also recorded a multiple hit day with a second inning single and a fifth inning infield single that drove in a run. He also walked and scored on Washburn’s double in the sixth.
Dylan Todd singled in front of Washburn’s home run in the first and also singled in the second. He also drew a sixth inning walk that forced in a run
Combined the top three hitters in the lineup had six hits and seven RBI.
Todd also threw the sixth inning for the Bearcats, needing only 11 pitches – 9 strikes – to retire the side.
The Bearcats executed three successful sacrifices, two by Haller, and one by Clint Osborne that drove in a run. Osborne had another bunt that went as a base hit as did one by Hayden Daniel. Daniel (shown) also swiped two bases.
