Roni Tillery went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs in a 14-0 Conference 3A-4 win over Paris at the Billy Kiersey Complex Tuesday.
Cameron Parish drove in the first run of the game with a sacrifice fly and Tori Nobles singled to score Tillery, who had walked, for the first of three times.
The Lady Bearcats (12-6, 4-2) extended the lead to 6-0 in the second behind RBIs from Ellie Smith, Presley Walker (2-for-3) and Tillery (shown) and a two-out error that allowed Parish to reach and a run to score.
The Lady Bearcats would double the lead to 12-0 in the third. Farrah Stringer (2-for-2) singled and was driven in by Caroline Diffee’s double to start it.
Tillery singled through the middle to score a run and Parish tripled to give her a 3 RBI day as well. Parish would score on a passed ball for a 12-0 cushion.
Stringer led off the fourth with a swinging bunt for a hit and was at second base with two down. She scored on a single by Walker, who then scored on a double by Tillery to make it 14-0.
Meanwhile Makinley Ensey was cruising after getting out of a bases loaded, one-out jam in the first with two of her six strikeouts, starting a streak of 11 straight retired. Ensey would allow just three hits.
In the fifth the first two Lady Eagles reached but a strikeout, a fielder’s choice, and a fly ball closed it out.
The Lady Bearcats will travel to Mansfield on Thursday to close out conference play with hopes of wrapping up the three seed in the district tournament, which Lavaca will host beginning on April 28.
