TENNIS TEAMS SPLIT IN MULBERRY

The Bearcat and Lady Bearcat tennis squads split their season opening matches in Mulberry.

Both single set games in girls play were won by Lady Bearcats with Raelynn Franklin (shown) winning hers 6-0 and Joslin Combs taking hers 6-1.

Mulberry returned the favor in boys singles, sweeping three matches against Taylor Shaver, Whit Kendall, and Hunter Pollard.

In doubles play the Lady Bearcat duo of Harley Fitzjurls and Malena Loftin won 6-4 in the only girls match.

For the boys Jaxon Harger and Shaver won a set 4-1 and Pollard and Kendall also won a 4-0 set. Harger and Braelan Lewis lost a 4-2 set. Lewis and Franklin also played a mixed doubles set, falling to a boys duo.

The tennis teams will be in action again on Tuesday at Dardanelle.
