Finishing 17th Taylor Shaver was the top finisher for Booneville at the Tom Stuthard Invitational at Acorn yesterday.
After a third place finish in Magazine last week it is Shaver’s (shown) second top 20 finish of the season. There were 113 runners in the senior boys division yesterday.
As a team the Bearcats finished 10th at the event.
The top placing team yesterday was the junior high boys who were sixth among the 13 schools with at least five runners competing.
Breyer Graham finished 23rd among the 172 junior high boys on the course and Jaydon Walker was a couple spots back at 25th.
Leo Vasquez, Parker Sing, and Breckyn Denton completed the team score which was just one point out of fifth place, and Austin Stone also completed the race for the Bearcats.
On a team that included no freshmen, the top finisher for the junior high Lady Bearcats was Lillie Holt, 73 of the 144 in the race.
Aerielle Mezalline, Kaitlyn Barber, Aleenah Guarjado, Hadley Stewart, and Stephanie Wilson completed the Lady Bearcat team score.
In the senior girls division it was Kaylee King taking 48th to lead the Lady Bearcats who had only three runners. Jessica Canada and Cora Nichols also finished the race.
Cross country teams are next scheduled to compete in Danville next Tuesday.
