With the 93rd meeting on tap Friday, Booneville has faced off against Logan County foe Paris more than any opponent in program history.

Last year the Bearcats logged the 50th win in the series, making the Eagles the fourth of now five opponents to have absorbed 50 or more losses to Booneville. Charleston became the fifth later in the season.

The series started with a tie, which has been the result six times, the most with any opponent.

Were it not for the series taking a break for five of six cycles between 2006 and 2017 the meeting count could easily have topped 100 by now.

By not playing in 2006 an 80-year streak of the schools facing one another came to a close.

Early in the series the game was played on Thanksgiving day and even after that tradition gave way, the game would typically be the regular season finale, rendering the off season bragging rights for the county.

After a tie to start the series the Eagles led or it was tied until 1931. The Bearcats led 5-3-2 after 1933 game and 6-5-3 after the 1938 meeting.

Paris took the lead in the series in the 1940s and held it until a 12-year run by the Bearcats that started in 1978 and continued through 1989 swung the lead to the south side of the county. The lead is now at 14 games.
