Shaver Finishes 12th in Danville

Taylor Shaver ran to a 12th place finish in a meet in Danville Tuesday.

Shaver reached the finish line in 20:58.08 and was 12th among the 84 runners in the division on the course.

The Bearcats were eighth as a team. Nathan Hicks was just 10 spots back in 22nd and Brendan Hubble and Cooper Lentz were both just outside the top 50.

Jeramiah Posey completed the team score and Barrett Coker’s finish was the if necessary spot to break a tie.

Taking 8th among the 18 in attendance, the junior high Bearcats had the top team finish for the day.

Breyer Graham and Jaydon Walker finished in 24th and 25th among the 215 total runners in the division.

Leo Vaszuez took 45th and Breckyn Denton 73rd with Austin Stone completing the team score and Parker Sing the sixth Bearcat on the course.

In the junior girls division, where there 170 runners, Ariel Mezalline was the first to finish and Kaitlyn Barber, Lillee Holt, Aleena Guajardo, and Hadley Stewart completing the team score.

Emily Thornburg and Stephanie Wilson also completed the race for the Lady Bearcats.

In the senior girls division Kaylee King (shown) just missed the top 20 with a 21st place finish. The Lady Bearcats did not have enough runners for a team score but Cora Nichols, Jessica Canada and Vivene Gray also completed the race.
