Having played in weeks 0 through 2, the Bearcats, like a good portion of the state, are open this Friday night.

TODAY IN BEARCAT FOOTBALL HISTORY: Because it is a Friday it bears noting that the Bearcats are 10-2 in games documented to have been played on September 19.

On September 19, 1952 Jimmy Earl Holcomb threw three touchdown passes – it was just the second time that had happened – in a 44-0 win over Hartford to open the season. One of the touchdown passes covered 65 yards and was to Lee Killion. He threw two to Killion and one to Jay Donathan.

On September 19, 2003 Jeremey McDonald ran for 179 yards in a 45-0 win over Clarksville.

On September 19, 2014 the Bearcats amassed 569 yards of offense in a 49-27 win over Arkansas Baptist (now Baptist Prep). Justin Shackelford ran for 190 yards and Bryson May added 157.

NOTES: Paris lost at Bearcat Stadium for the 18th time Friday night. That moves the Eagles into a fourth place tie with Mansfield for most losses at Bearcat Stadium. The win is the 286th at the Home of Champions.

The Bearcats intercepted three passes Friday night, giving them four for the season, already matching the 2024 season total. Conner Droemer had his second, Hayden Daniel his first, and Rhett Nietert his first. There is actually a fifth interception by Callen Montalvo that occurred on a 2-point conversion attempt on September 5. Opponents have thrown for a combined 242 yards.

The win was the 60th under head coach Doc Crowley (4-0 against Paris).

THEME: There is no pep rally, of course.
