The Booneville seventh grade Bearcats evened their season record at 2-2 with a 16-0 win at Lavaca.
The game was delayed slightly due to lightning pushing back the pregame warmup beginning.
The Bearcats allowed a first down before forcing a simulated punt and would take the lead with their first possession.
The touchdown came on a run of 73 yards by David Martinez after a false start flag pushed the Bearcats into a third-and-12.
Alijah Pearcy ran for the 2-point conversion.
Before the Bearcats ran another offensive play the lead had doubled to 16-0. Jagger Jobb picked off a Golden Arrow pass and returned it 64 yards for a touchdown with about three and a half minutes left in the first half.
Martinez added the 2-point conversion after the score.
It stayed 16-0 through the break thanks in part to Colton Fox (53) who had a sack, and other tackle and assisted on another sack, the later coming on the final play of the half.
The second half was a defensive struggle with the teams combining for just 35 yards.
The Bearcats will play again next Thursday at home against Cedarville. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
