DISTRICT TENNIS SEEDS ANNOUNCED

District Tennis Seeds Announced

Raelynn Franklin is seeded third in their girls divisions for the conference tennis tournament next week in Jessieville.

As the 3-seed Franklin will face the sixth seeded player from Jessieville in the nine player field.

Joslin Combs is the 5-seed and will see the 4-seed, also from Jessieville, to start the tournament.

Taylor Shaver is seeded fourth in the boys singles bracket and has a first round bye in the 12-player field. He will face the winner of the 5 versus 12 match in the quarterfinals.

Hunter Pollard (shown) also earned a berth in the field and is seeded 11th and must play the 6th seeded player from Paris in the first round.

The Bearcats also had two doubles teams earn berths in a 10 team field.

Whit Kendall and Braelan Lewis are seeded fifth and will open play against the fourth seeded pair from Bismarck in the quarterfinal round.

Caysen Lewis and Jaxon Harger are also in the field as the 11-seed and will face the 6th seeded pair from Haskell Harmony Grove in the opening round.

The Lady Bearcats do not have a doubles team in the field.

The girls tournament is set for Thursday and the boys will play on Tuesday.

In their final match before district play yesterday the Lady Bearcats and Bearcats swept doubles play and took three of five singles matches against Paris.

Kendall was a doubles partner for both Braelan and Caysen Lewis. With Braelan Lewis the set win was 6-3 and with Caysen it was a 6-0 set win.

In girls paly Malena Loftin and Combs teamed up in a 6-0 set win.

In boys singles Pollard split two sets, winning 6-0 and dropping the other set 6-4. Shaver also fell in his set 6-5.

Both Franklin and Combs prepared for district play with straight set, 6-0 wins.
