Five Bearcat senior volleyball players combined for 25 kills in a four set win over Atkins on senior night Tuesday. Tonight they will be looking to nail down the 4-seed from Conference 3A-5 heading into next week’s district tournament.
In the way tonight for the Bearcats, who are 3-3 in league play, is Lamar.
On Tuesday it was Presley Walker with 7 kills; Kaylee Ray, Vanessa O’Neal, and Cameron Parish with 5 each; and Peighton Montalvo with 3.
Four of the five – Montalvo does not serve – combined for 12 aces (a celebration of one is shown) and Anna Ferguson, also a senior, adding 2 more to make it 14 from the group playing their last home game.
Parish and O’Neal had 3 aces each and Walker had 2.
Defensively the seniors accounted for 106 digs with Ferguson responsible for 47. Walker had 17 and Ray and Parish both had 15 with O’Neal collecting 12.
Dover will host next week’s district tournament. The junior high tournament will be a single day event at Conway Christian on Saturday.
