A lot has happened since the last time Mansfield played in Booneville in 2022.
Booneville has twice been to Little Rock, winning a state title once, and Mansfield has won their second outright conference title in school history.
To do that they ended a 44-year, but 24-game losing streak to Booneville in a meeting that occurred in Mansfield.
The Tigers hosted the game in 2023 to close a two-year cycle then were the home team in 2024 due to a shakeup of the conference schedule.
As was the case a year ago, both teams are 4-0 in conference play for Friday’s game at Bearcat Stadium. Completely opposite of 2024, it is the Bearcats who are 5-2 overall and Mansfield who is 7-0.
Friday marks the 83rd meeting between the two schools. With 62 wins over Mansfield, the Tigers are the most often beaten opponent among the 791 Bearcat program wins. Mansfield has never won at Bearcat Stadium.
