Mansfield then kept the ball the ball the remaining 3:47 of the quarter and until the 1:29 mark of the second quarter, eventually tying the game at 8-8.

The Bearcats were able to cross into Mansfield territory during the remaining time in the first half but would run out of time at the Tiger 29.

Mansfield then scored on the first play of the second half and led 14-8 and would later extend the lead to 20-8 on a 45-yard scoring run after the Bearcats turned the ball over on downs.

On the final play of the game David Martinez went 98 yards for a touchdown but a block in the back penalty brought the ball back.
