Regardless of the outcome of the season finale/senior night game against Lavaca, the Bearcats will be seeded third from Conference 3A-4 and will host a first-round playoff game against the 4 seed from the 3A-2 on November 14.

The Bearcats are 5-4 overall and 4-2 in league play. Hackett is one game behind in the standings and plays Cedarville this week. The Bearcats own the tiebreaker with the Hornets.

Charleston is the 2 seed and Mansfield the 1 seed regardless of Friday’s outcomes. Hackett is the 4 regardless because they have tiebreakers over Lavaca and Greenland, the only schools who could tie them.

The 5 seed could get weird should Cedarville beat Hackett, or the very unlikely occurrence of West Fork beating Mansfield, if Lavaca and Greenland both lose as there would be a three, or possibly four-way tie for fifth. Without upsets, Lavaca has the head-to-head with Greenland and would be the 5.

TODAY IN BEARCAT FOOTBALL HISTORY: The Bearcats are 9-3-1 in games documented to have been played on November 7. On November 7, 1941 the Bearcats beat St. Anne’s 20-7 at Andrews Field in Fort Smith in what would be the only program win over the Buffaloes (1-9).

On November 7, 1980 in what would be Head Coach Gene Bradley’s final game with the program, the Bearcats beat Paris 40-6. Bradley was 10-4-1 in his Bearcat coaching career against Paris. The win was his 107th which was a program best at the time. He is now one of three coaches with more than 100 wins.

On November 7, 2014 the Bearcats beat Lavaca 54-8. Josh Smith had a 79-yard scoring run and Bryson May had one of 86 yards. Smith also caught a 59-yard pass from James Ray.

FOUR QUARTERS: 1ST quarter: Hunter Warren is 66 yards away from the 2,500-yard career mark. 2nd quarter: The last time a Bearcat team was seeded as low as 3rd was in 2016. 3rd quarter: Only twice in the history of the Lavaca series has the margin of victory been less than a mercy rule, 21-13 in 2008, and 42-27 in 2015. 4th quarter: On Friday Lavaca will become the 22nd different school to have faced a Bearcat team at least 10 times.

THEME: The pep rally theme is Disney.
