On Tuesday night the paint was Ms. Rogers neighborhood, but you may not have found it very welcoming.
Freshman Evenly Rogers scored 12 points, had 9 rebounds, and blocked 2 shots to lead the Junior High Lady Bearcats to a 27-13 win over Dover for their second win in as many nights.
Rogers scored her first points of the game with 1:31 left in the opening quarter to give the Lady Bearcats a 6-5 lead.
The basket also started a personal run of 10 straight points scored by the freshman the rest of the half and the Lady Bearcats led 14-8.
Rogers had scored the final 4 points of the half and the Lady Bearcats started the second half by making it a 17-0 run.
Tatum Brackney got involved with a free throw and a basket to start the second half and Alycin Pearcy (shown) hit two free throws and scored from the floor. Baskets by Ava Hicks and one by Clara made it 27-8.
Bearcats 44 Dover 11
Drake Brackney scored the first 5 points of the game. The Bearcats scored the first 21 and there was never any question.
Toby Weaver and Rogan Haller came off the bench and contributed to the first quarter barrage by hitting 3s. The Bearcats hit five 3s in the game.
Brackney, who had two 3s, had scored 14 points by halftime and was done for the night as the Bearcats were up 36-6.
Chase Posey scored 5 second quarter points and would be the second leading scorer.
Up next for the teams is a trip to Waldron on Thursday which will be the second half of a four game set with Waldron.
