Waldron took a game-high 12-point lead just over a minute into the second half but back-to-back 3s by Ayden Rhinehart and Drake Brackney cut that in half.
It was the first of four times the Bearcats, who lost for the first time this season, would get it to a two possession game. The last came on another Brackney 3 that came off an offensive rebound after a free throw miss with 16 seconds remaining.
Brackney finished with 17 points and Cooper Smithson had 6.
