For a quarter Two Rivers was more than in the game with the seventh grade Bearcats Monday night.
In fact it was 6-4 in the Gators' favor, but the Bearcats (2-1) were up 14-8 by halftime led by 20 through three quarters on the way to a 35-17 win.
Easton Floyd hit a second quarter free throw to make it a one point game at 6-5 and Alijah Pearcy gave the Bearcats their first lead.
Floyd, on his way to 17 points on the night, then hit a 3 to extend the lead and the Bearcats led the rest of the way.
Floyd hit a second 3 and Jagger Jobb also hit one. Deacon Lunsford scored 8 second half points and finished with 9.
The Bearcats shot 26 free throws in the game, but converted just 8.
Lady Bearcats 20 Two Rivers 7
Including overcoming a small yelling section while she made two free throws, Sunny Bolinger scored 6 first half points and the Booneville seventh grade Lady Bearcats built a 16-0 lead.
The Lady Bearcats moved to 3-0 with a 20-7 win that also included a pair of baskets from Hadley Kimes and Charlotte Green in the first half.
Bench scoring also accounted for a half dozen points, including a bucket by Jewels Terry and two by Kenley Schlup, the later which accounted for all of the second half scoring.
Both teams are in action again Thursday at Scranton as part of another four game set.
