The Seventh Grade Lady Bearcats had three runs of eight or more unanswered points in a 34-19 win over Mena Monday night.
The Lady Bearcats (5-0) were down 2-0 early but rattled off the next eight points. Hadley Kimes had two baskets after Charlotte Green tied it at 2-2.
Mena battled back to make it 8-7 with a 3 pointer and two from the free throw line but the Lady Bearcats scored the next eight again and led 16-7 at the half.
Kimes accounted for 6 of her 16 in the game in the run.
Mena was within 24-19 early in the final quarter but the Lady Bearcats closed it out with 10 straight, including 6 by Sunny Bolinger (shown), giving her 10 in the game.

Mena raced to a 15-2 lead in the opening quarter before Gaige Bills followed a Mason Helms 3 with a contested shot in the lane at the first quarter buzzer to make it 15-7.
The Bearcats (2-3) then chipped away throughout the second quarter getting to within 18-16 with Easton Floyd scoring from inside and outside the arc in the quarter.
A 3 by Jagger Jobb pushed the Bearcats into the lead for the first time and 19-18 and his second of the third quarter made it 24-20 representing the third time Jobb hit a go-ahead shot in the quarter.
Mena scored the next 6 to retake the lead but a David Martinez basket retied it at 26 and a Jobb free throw tied it again at 27.
After Mena took the lead again, they were able to hold it the rest of the way.
The Bearcats and Lady Bearcats will next play against Cedarville next Monday at Bearcat Gymnasium.
