The seventh grade Lady Bearcats stayed unbeaten Monday but it took overtime to pull out a 12-11 win.
Charlotte Green (shown) delivered the eventual game winner in overtime with 2:01 to play. Cedarville got one back on a free throw with 7.7 seconds to play.
It was Green who got the rebound on the missed second free throw.
After a scoreless third quarter, which left the Lady Bearcat behind 8-7, it was a basket after a rebound by Green that made it 9-8, and after Cedarville went back in front, a free throw from Hadley Kimes tied it at 10 with 1:55 to go in regulation.
In the boys game the Bearcats would cut into a double-digit second half deficit but were unable to complete a comeback against the Pirates, falling 30-24.
A Deacon Lunsford basket gave the Bearcats (2-4) a 6-4 lead but Cedarville scored the next 9 points to lead 13-6 at the half.
The run would be extended to 14 and a lead of 18-6 before a Colton Fox basket interrupted it. That started an 9-0 Bearcat run.
It was eventually 20-17 going to the fourth after a pair of Easton Floyd free throws and 21-19 after a basket from Floyd.
Cedarville extended its lead back to 7 at 26-19 before Lunsford cut it back to 26-22 with a conventional 3-point play.
That would be as close as it would get as Cedarville pushed it back to 8 and settelled for a 6-point win.
Floyd led the Bearcats with 7 points and Jagger Jobb scored 6.
