Alycin Pearcy and Trinity Martinez combined for 20 points in a 24-0 third quarter by the Booneville Junior Lady Bearcats turned a close game into a 43-11 blowout.
The Lady Bearcats (9-1) had led by 11 twice in the first half before Danville trimmed its deficit to 17-11 by halftime.
Scoreless in the first half after sitting about half of the second quarter with two fouls, Pearcy drove in and scored to start the second half. She put back a rebound 16 second later and scored her third basket in 33 seconds – though she had picked up a third foul – after a steal and it was 23-11.
By the time the half was 59 seconds old it was 27-11 as Martinez (show) had scored and Pearcy scored on another offensive rebound.
Pearcy's fifth basket of the quarter came at the 4:36 mark and it was 29-11.
A pair of free throws from Sophie Shaffer made it a 20-point lead but Pearcy’s fourth foul sent her to the bench again with 3:21 to play in the quarter.
She would not return.
Martinez took over from there scoring 10 of the next 12 points – interrupted only by a Tatum Brackney basket – and the lead was 41-11 with 1:49 left in the quarter.
Martinez finished with 11 points to lead all players.
EmJ Lee accounted for the only fourth quarter points as Danville was shut out for the third time in four quarters.
