Late in the first quarter against Charleston Tuesday night Nick Widener hit a 3 and Tayden Wasburn scored a possession later to get the Bearcats within 11-10.
But Charleston would score the next 11 points and go on to win 57-25.
Washburn, with 13 points, and Widener, with 10, would account for all but two Bearcat points with the exception being a Hayden Daniel basket on a feed from Sadler Miller with 2:28 left in the first half.
That basket made it a single digit deficit of 27-16 for the last time.
Charleston 56 Lady Bearcats 25
Charleston scored the first 8 points of the game and led by as many as 15 in the first quarter.
The Lady Tigers had extended that to 28 by halftime.
Haylee Taylor and Emma Fox both scored 6 for the Lady Bearcats and Anna Ferguson and Raelynn Franklin both scored 5.
Both teams are back in action on Friday night in Paris.
