The Booneville Seventh Grade Bearcats and Seventh Grade Bulldogs of Greenwood played a game Wednesday that featured three tie scores and 12 lead changes.
The largest deficit of the game was when Greenwood led 19-12 early in the second quarter but the Bearcats scored the next 7 points, drawing even on an Alijah Pearcy basket.
It was Greenwood with the final lead change with a 3-pointer that made it 30-28 with 6:11 to play in the game which featured 8-minute running clock quarters.
Neither team would score again.
Deacon Lunsford had scored on an inbound play to give the Bearcats a 25-24 lead and, after a Greenwood 3, Lunsford hit one too to make it 28-27 with 6:26 to go.
Fifteen seconds later Greenwood went back in front.
Lunsford finished with 8 points, matching the 8 by Easton Floyd (shown) and Pearcy scored 6.
In an 8th grade game that followed the Bearcats dominated from start to finish, winning 53-16.
After it was 5-2 that was as close as it would get. It was 21-5 after one quarter and 32-5 at the half.
