The Junior High Bearcats will travel to County Line tonight to face Pleasant View in the semifinal round of the 40th annual Opal Pistole Tournament.
Since last Thursday the Bearcats have dominated Mansfield, 60-27, beat County Line 48-21 in the opening round of the Pistole on Saturday, and topped Lamar 40-30 on Monday.
The two Conference 3A-4 wins clinched the top seed in the junior high district tournament as the Bearcats are 14-3 overall and a perfect 7-0 in league play with only a game against Subiaco remaining.
At Mansfield it was Drake Brackney pouring in 33 points in the blowout win. Brackney hit 5 times from beyond the arc, scored 5 2-point baskets and was 8-of-13 at the free throw line.
He had scored 8 first quarter points and the Bearcats led 13-10 but by halftime it was 35-18 and Brackney had accounted for 21 points.
Another double-digit quarter for the freshman moved him to 32 and the game was well in hand at 52-27.
Brackney added a single point in the final quarter.
On Saturday the Bearcats beat up on the tournament hosts in County Line with a more balanced attack that saw five players register points in the first quarter.
Still, Brackney would lead the way with 15, which included a pair of 3s in the third quarter.
Parker Sing hit a 3 in the final quarter of the win.
On Monday the Bearcats closed out the night with a 10-point win behind 16 points from Edwin Garcia (shown in a game earlier this sason) and 14 from Brackney.
After Lamar took a 9-5 lead through one quarter Garcia hit three 3s and scored 11 second quarter points and the Bearcats were up 23-19.
Cooper Smithson and Karson Tillery contributed to the offense in a shutout third quarter that saw the Bearcat lead grow to 30-19.
Garcia helped keep the Warriors at bay with a pair of buckets in the final quarter.
