Drake Brackney treated Cedarville to his own 30 for 30 Thursday night.
Brackney hit the 30-point mark for the third time in the 44-22 junior high Bercat with the Pirates witnessing the feat for the second time.
Brackney (shown in a game earlier this month) scored 30 against the Pirates in a win on his home floor in December and on January 15 he lit up Mansfield for 33 on the road.
Thursday Brackney matched the first two Pirate baskets with tying shots and the Bearcats (16-3) led 6-4 after a quarter on a go-ahead basket from Chase Posey.
The lead grew to 21-14 by halftime and Brackney had accounted for 16 points.
Brackney started the second half with a 3 and he would score 10 in the quarter as the Bearcats went on a 12-0 run and the lead grew to as many as 20.
Lady Bearcats 33 Cedarville 27
Evelyn Rogers blocked 6 shots in a game for the second time this year and the Lady Bearcats edged Cedarville 33-27.
With 5:32 to go in the third quarter the Lady Bearcats (16-2) led 24-10 after a 3 by Sophie Shaffer. With 4:34 to play in the game the lead was one of only 27-25.
Just 17 seconds after the Lady Pirates were within tww, Alycin Peary fed Rogers for the first Lady Bearcat field goal in a span of 4:50.
Shaffer hit 2-of-4 free throws to offset two of four by Cedarville and the lead was 31-27 with 56.2 seconds to play.
When Cedarville got into the bonus, Pearcy went to the free throw line alone with 7.6 seconds left. Though she was the only one in purple, she would get the rebound on her second miss and put it back in to set the final.
Tatum Brackney scored 9 first half points to lead the Lady Bearcats.
