The Booneville Junior High Bearcats will be looking to add the year end District 3A-4 tournament title to their regular season conference title tonight in Cedarville.
The Bearcats (20-3) will be facing Lamar in the finals. The Bearcats beat Lamar 40-30 in Bearcat Gymnasium in their only meeting this season back on January 19.
The Bearcats got to the finals with ease, pounding fifth-seeded host Cedarville 67-16 in the semifinals, and beat eighth-seed Subiaco 45-17 in the opening round last Saturday.
On Monday it was Drake Brackney setting a junior boys and program record with 44 points, including 26 in the third quarter alone. Brackney had scored 7 in the opening round on a day 13 players logged points.
The 2-seed in the tournament, Lamar took down third-seeded Mansfield 56-48 in the semifinals and had beaten seventh-seeded Lavaca in the opening round on Saturday.
