C.J. Johnson ran to a second place overall finish in the Magazine Invitational Tuesday for the Bearcat cross country team.

Elliott Wortham was also a medalist, finishing 8th in Magazine, Lexi Franklin was 4th in the senior girls division, and Sean Pennington was 8th in the junior boys race.

Johnson was also 10th overall in the Tom Stuthard Stampede hosted by Acorn on September 7. There, Emory Honey was the top Bearcat runner, finishing 6th.

At Acorn the Bearcats were sixth as a team with Wortham, Trenton Jones, and Boston Keatts all figuring into the scoring.

Franklin was 4th overall in the senior girls division in Acorn as well and Heaven Sanchez ran to an 18th place finish. Carah Miller and Caroline Smithson also completed the course but the Lady Cats were one runner short of a team score.

Pennington was the top junior high Bearcat in Acorn, finishing 11th with Taylor Shaver, Cody Sum, Wesley Fonseca and Dakota Fonseca combining to finish sixth as a team. Carson Smoker also ran for the Bearcats.

In the junior girls division the Lady Cats did not achieve a team score although Natalie Blankenship with the top finisher in 17th place and both Zayla Honey and Raelynn Franklin were 21st and 23rd.
