Tied at 22-22 in the third set Monday night, Lady Bearcat head coach Bailey Stringer took a time out.
Out of the play stoppage, Clarksville had a service error and the Lady Bearcats used that to springboard to a 25-22 set win to complete the straight set match. The Lady Bearcats had won the first two sets by identical 25-13 scores.
The closing run also wrapped up a successful senior night against the Lady Panthers.
In the opening set the Lady Bearcats started with a block by Laney Parrish and a kill by Joleigh Tate (shown).
Tate had another kill at 9-5 and Hayley Lunsford had kills at 13-6 and 17-8.
Karmen Kent got into the act with a kill to make it 19-10. She had another after an ace by Jessica
Cauthon had made it 23-12 and Tate had a vicious attack that was blocked but went out of bounds for the set win.
Abby O’Bar started the second game with a kill and one by Lunsford gave the Lady Bearcats a 6-4 edge. Another by Parrish made it 9-5 before the Lady Bearcats completely took the game over.
Clarksville took a time out down 20-13 after a block by Tate but it did nothing to slow the Lady Bearcats as they ran off the next five points, including a block by Parrish.
The final set went back and forth. A kill by O’Bar tied it at 6-6 and an ace by Lunsford gave the Lady Bearcats the lead.
It was 10-7 after a kill by Kent and 11-9 after one by Hayley Roberts. An ace by Katelynn Spain gave the Lady Bearcats a 16-11 edge but the Lady Panthers bounced back to tie it at 22.
The Lady Bearcats will close out the regular season tonight by hosting Green Forest. It is also the annual "Pink Out" match.
