The Booneville Lady Bearcat volleyball team made quick work of Green Forest in their regular season finale Tuesday night, winning in straight sets at Bearcat Gym.
Wearing pink jerseys for the annual "Pink Out" game, the Lady Bearcats jumped to a 6-1 lead in the first set behind three kills from Karmen Kent and another from Hayley Roberts.
From 7-8 to 15-5 Joleigh Tate had four kills, Hayley Lunsford had two, and Katelyn Spain threw in an ace.
After breaking serve at 21-7 with a kill from Hayley Lunsford, Lunsford had another kill and Camdyn Dove ended it with an ace.
Green Forest took an early lead in the second game and it was tied at 7-7 but the Lady Bearcats got a kill from Tate and a well placee return from Emma MIkles on the way to a five point lead.
The lead would group to double digits in a stretch that saw kills from Kent and Lunsford and a pair of aces from Dove.
Kyleigh Lunsford was on serve for the final two points of the game, one of them a kill by Kent.
Head coach Bailey Stringer worked in multiple players who normally handle JV duty including Mikles, Kylie Lunsford, Haven Herrera, and Hailey Hanes in the first two sets and got Brooklyn Elmore, Megan Reid, and Nat Miller involved before it was over.
The Lady Bearcats scored the first six points of the final game, four of them on aces by Hayley Lunsford.
Kent had three aces and Tate a couple of kills before a kill by Mikles made it 15-5.
Before it ended on a volley by Dove, Abby O’Bar had four kills and Tate had a pair of aces.
The Lady Bearcats will be seeded fourth in the district tournament, which Booneville will host next week.
