It’s volleyball tournament time for the 3A West. The junior high district tournament will be held in Lincoln Saturday and Booneville will host the senior high volleyball tournament next week.
While the senior high tournament will be spread out over four days, the junior high tournament will be decided in a one-day affair.
With a 5-3 mark in conference games, the Junior Lady Bearcats are the 3-seed and will play at 10 a.m. against the 6-seed. The opponent has yet to be determined.
A win sends the Lady Bearcats to the semifinal round at 3 p.m. and the championship game is set for 4.
The senior high tournament, for which four teams will qualify for the state tournament, provides byes to the semifinals for the top two seeds, and an opening round bye for the three seed.
The schedule has three games on Monday – the 4-seed versus the 9-seed (Lincoln) at 4 p.m., the 5-seed versus the 8-seed at 5:45, and the 6-seed versus the 7-seed at 7:30.
Head coach Bailey Stringer and the Lady Bearcats will actually start the tournament. The Lady Bearcats completed conference play at 5-3 and will be the 4-seed. Green Forest has likewise completed conference play and will be the 9 seed.
The winner of the Lady Bearcat match will take on the winner of the 5 versus 8 seed game at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, with the 6-7 winner playing the 3-seed at 7 p.m.
Wednesday’s schedule has the top seeded team playing at 5 p.m. against the winner of Tuesday’s 5 p.m. game and the 2-seed playing the 7 p.m. Tuesday winner at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
The third-place game is set for 5 p.m. on Thursday and the championship match will be played at 7 p.m. Thursday.
