The Lady Bearcat volleyball team was playing its third match in as many days. Hackett was playing its first of the week.

The result was a straight set loss to the District 3A-4 West regular season and defending state champion Lady Hornets in the 3A-4 West tournament semifinals.

In the first set a kill from Joleigh Tate got the Lady Bearcats to within 9-6 but that was as close as it would get.

A Karmen Kent kill started the second game but Hackett ran off the next six points before another Kent kill. A Tate block and a kill by Hayley Roberts made it a one point game.

The Lady Bearcats ultimately tied it at 7-7 – Booneville had won the second game when the schools met in the regular season.
Kent had two more kills and Hayley Lunsford had one before Hackett would win comfortably to go up 2-0.

Kent started the third game with two kills and she had a block made it 3-1. Hackett took the set over before a couple of Lunsford (shown setting in a game earlier this week) blocks had the Lady Bearcats within 9-7.

Hackett stayed in front despite a kill by Lunsford, a block by Abby O’Bar and another Kent kill, before pulling away to complete the sweep.

Tonight the Lady Bearcats will face Charleston, who lost a semifinal match to Paris last night, in a third place game. While the host Lady Bearcats will be playing for the fourth straight day, Charleston will be playing for the third consecutive night.
