Booneville volleyball coach Bailey Stringer, during a banquet to honor the 2021 Lady Bearcat club, said she wants to see something change.

Stringer said Booneville is known to be a football school, and while there is nothing wrong with that, she expects it to start being known as a volleyball school too.

In her first years as head coach Stringer guided the Lady Bearcats to the state tournament, ending a drought of three years. Now she wants to move further.

But first there were team and league award recognition for this season.

The awards included Hayley Lunsford being named All State and All Conference. Joleigh Tate, who like Lunsford is a senior, was Honorable Mention All State and All Conference.

Karmen Kent, one of 14 juniors on the roster who will be counted upon to execute Stringer's plan, was All Conference as well.

The team awards were selected through vote by the players.
• Defensive Player of the Year – Camdyn Dove
• Offensive Player of the Year – Joleigh Tate
• Top Setter – Hayley Lunsford
• Top Blocker – Hayley Roberts
• Most Improved – Brooklyn Elmore
• Team Spirit – Haven Herrera
• Top Teammate – Karmen Kent
• MVP – Hayley Lunsford

Stringer closed the banquet by noting not a single Lady Bearcat loss was to a team that was not involved in a state tournament, including six to teams who reached the finals of a state tournament.
