Today’s trip to Perryville will be the first for the Booneville football program in senior high. The junior high made a visit to Perry County last year.
Seniors on the Mustang roster have now played on back-back-to-back winning teams and having made the playoffs three straight years. Perryville’s lone Conference 3A-4 loss came in Week 8 to Paris, 31-6.

THIS DATE IN BEARCAT FOOTBALL HISTORY: The Booneville football program has been dominant in games documents to have been played on November 6, posting an 11-1-1 mark, most recently a 39-10 win over Mena in 2010.
The most memorable November 6 game is likely the 1999, 56-48 win over Ozark at Bearcat Stadium. In that game Allen Ray ran for 226 yards, Zach Adair added 135, and Travis Adair 128. All told the Bearcats gained 636 yards, still the second most in a game. The teams combined for 1098 yards, which is still the single game record. The 104 combined points stood as the highest scoring game until 2014. Ray also kicked 8 extra points in the game, becoming the first Bearcat to do so.
NOTES: If it seems like every week Randon Ray is joining some elite group of players to do something it’s because he is. He’s 192 yards from being just the fourth member of the 4,000-yard rushing club. With his now 64 touchdowns, he’s one of only two to top 60 – Bryson May had 76 – but with one more he will have scored more than 400 points, joining only May and his dad, Allen in that group.
Besides scoring a touchdown, Mason Goers shared a tackle for a loss last week. He is the club leader at 10.5.
With 398 points scored (400 counting forfeit) it might be predictable, but the Bearcats have outscored opponents in every quarter. The scoring has included 251 first half points (128, 123), and 147 in the second half (90, 57). Opponents have managed 138 total points, only 58 of which was in the first half (31, 27), and 80 in the second half (33, 47).
