The Booneville Lady Bearcats suffered their first loss on the young season at Hackett Wednesday, 1-0.
The Lady Bearcats (2-1) managed just one hit, a two-out single by Leigh Swint in the fourth inning. Swint (shown playing defense) would also be the only Lady Bearcat baserunner.
Hackett (9-2) scored the only run of the game in the third inning. It was a two-out double that chased home the run.
That hit was one of only four surrendered by Lexi Franklin, who stuck out 10 and walked just two in a complete game.
Franklin had pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the first inning of the game played yesterday due to unplayable field conditions on Tuesday.
The Lady Bearcats will look to rebound today when they make a road trip to Pottsville.
