BEARCATS/LADY CATS TO REMAIN IN 3A-4 FOR BASKETBALL

With basketball season having come to a close last weekend, new conference assignments for the 2022-2024 cycle have been released by the Arkansas Activities Association.

Assignments were delayed dependent upon private school performances used to compute the competitive equity formula values which determine placement for those schools.

The Bearcats and Lady Bearcats will remain in a largely unchanged Conference 3A-4 in the next cycle.

The conference will include Booneville, Cedarville, Charleston, Cossatot River, Danville, Hackett and Paris as was the case in the current cycle.

Waldron, which will compete in Class 4A in the next cytle, is replaced by Two Rivers.

Conference 3A-4 will again be paired with Conference 3A-1 for regional purposes to decide state tournament qualifiers.

There are 62 schools in Class 3A basketball.
