JUNIOR BEARCATS 2ND; LADY BEARCATS 3RD IN MENA

Winning three events, the Booneville Junior High Bearcats were the meet runner-up in Mena earlier this week. The Junior Lady Bearcats won four events on the way to a third plays team finish.

For the Bearcats it was Hunter Warren running a 12.05 100-meter dash to top the field, Demari Poole tossing the discus 35.36 meters to best that field, and the 4x100-meter relay team of Conner Droemer, Dakota Mattson, Clayton Loftin, and Warren winning their race with a time of 51 seconds.

In other relays the Bearcats were second in both the 4x200 (1:47.3) and 4x400 (4:19.7) and took fifth in the 4x800 (10:40.86).

The 4x200 meter team was Conner Lentz, Droemer, Loftin, and Mattson; the 4x400 grouping was Trevor Karow, Wesley Fonseca, Nathaniel McKinney and Chase Shelton; and the 4x800 team was McKinney, Levi McMaster, Rhett Nietert, and Shelton.

High Jump: Mattson 1.72 meters, 2nd; Fonseca 1.53 meters, 7th

Pole Vault: Karow 2.59 meters, 5th; Loftin 2.30 meters, 6th

Girls

The Lady Bearcats got two event wins from Ellie Smith in both the high jump at 1.51 meters and the long jump at 4.83 meters, as well as from Anna Ferguson in the 400-meter dash at 1:08.73, and the 4x400-meter relay contingent of Presley Walker, Ferguson, Emily Wooldridge, and Novalee Lindstrom, who combined for a time of 4:54.38.

In other relay events the 4x200 team was second (2:04.54) and both the 4x100 (58.50) and 4x800 (12:25.80) teams were fifth.

The 4x200 team was Allie Siddons, Ferguson, Emily Wooldridge, and Lindstrom; the 4x100 runners were Siddons, Walker, Ferguson and Lindstrom; and the 4x800 team was Adisyn Hill, Natalie Blankenship, Christina O’Neal, and Vanessa O’Neal.
