SANCHEZ WINS EVENT; HALL SECOND IN TWO IN MENA MEET

Heaven Sanchez won an event and Trace Hall was second in two for the Lady Bearcat and Bearcat track teams Thursday in Mena.

Sanchez won the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.05.

Carah Miller was third in the 100-meters with a time of 14.66. Miller accounted for 20 points for the Lady Bearcats with a second place finish in the long jump at 15’ 0.5” and third in the triple jump at 29’ 8”.

Alyssa Nichols was seventh in the shot put with a distance of 21’ 2”.

The Lady Bearcat 4x100-meter relay team was second.

Hall was second in both the pole vault at 10’ 6.5” and the 100-meter dash at 11.83.

Colter Fisher took third for the Bearcats in the high jump at 5’ 8” and the throwing events saw Brett Welling sixth in the shot put at 36’ 3” and Chase Playmale fourth (97’ 5”) and Johnny Barnes eighth (76’ 8”) in the discus.

Checotah Blythe accounted for the remaining Bearcat points with a seventh place finish in the 400-meter dash at 1:03.11.
