The Booneville Bearcats will end a 10-day layoff that included spring break when they host 3A-4 South foe Danville today.
The Bearcats (5-2) last took the field on March 18, the Friday heading into the break, when they beat Charleston 11-1 in six innings for their third straight win.
They did so with every player in the lineup recording a hit, scoring a run, or both.
Among those doing both was Dax Goff who hit a solo home run, his second of the year. Goff (2-for-3) drove in two during the game.
Ry Ray (shown tagging out a Tiger at the plate) had a three RBI day and Matt O’Bar and Dunn Daniel both joined Goff with two hits on the day.
Brooks Herrera threw a complete game allowing just two hits and an unearned run while striking out 10 of the 25 batters faced. Herrera (3-0) threw 88 pitches, 56 for strikes.
