LADY BEARCATS SCORE 29 RUNS IN WIN

A 29-0 win gives the appearance of an offensive explosion.

It wasn’t.

The Lady Bearcats (11-0, 3-0 3A-4 South) had four hits in their 29-0 five inning win over Cossatot River in a game played on the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain’s Cummings-Cecil Field at McMillan Park.

There were also 17 base on balls, eight hit batters, and six Lady Eagle errors in the game. Karmen Kent walked four times.

Lexi Franklin struck out 13 of the 15 outs she recorded in a no-hitter, her second of the season. Franklin allowed one walk, and one Lady Eagle reached on an error.

Sixteen different Lady Bearcats made their way around the bases including Caroline Smithson who scored five times. Smithson (shown) also had one of the four hits and drove in two runs.

There were 13 players credited with RBIs with Roni Tillery, Shelby Myers, and Hayley Lunsford all having three.

It was 14-0 going to the fifth when 19 hitters went to the plate with 15 touching home and the final out recorded at the plate.
