The Lady Bearcats scored four times with two down in the first to build a 6-0 lead and were never threatened in a 15-0 win over Waldron Tuesday at the Billy Kiersey Baseball/Softball Complex.

The win moves the Lady Bearcats to 14-1 overall and 5-0 in the 3A-4 South with only a date with Cossatot River on Friday remaining in league play.

After two were down in the first Brooke Turner drew a four pitch walk and Joleigh Tate beat out an infield grounder. Hayley Lunsford reached on the second Lady Bulldog error of the inning and it was 3-0.

Caroline Smithson followed with a single that scored two and Karmen Kent doubled her home for a 6-0 edge.

For Smithson that was the start of a four RBI day and for Kent it was her first of two.

It was 10-0 after two innings. Leigh Swint (shown) bunted her way aboard with a run scoring and Lexi Frnaklin doubled home one for an 8-0 lead.

Smithson delivered another two-out run scoring hit and was again chased home by Kent and it was a double digit lead.

Another of the eight Waldron errors allowed two runs to score in the third and Lunsford drove in a run before Smithson grounded out to score another and it was 14-0.

A Turner sacrifice fly would be the only Lady Bearcat tally in the fourth.

To that point Franklin had allowed no hits or walks and had struck out six but Roni Tillery took over in the circle and finished it for the Lady Bearcats (14-1).

Besides Smithson and Kent, Layla Byrum, Swint and Franklin all had two hit games.

The Lady Bearcats are scheduled to play on their second college field this season on Thursday, taking on Mayflower at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
