LADY BEARCAT WIN BIG ON SENIOR NIGHT

The Booneville Lady Bearcats scored 12 times before Cedarville recorded an out Friday afternoon on what was recognized as senior night for Hayley Lunsford, Caroline Smithson, Brooke Turner, and Joleigh Tate.

The game had been postponed from March 8 and had no bearing on the district tournament which Cedarville will host beginning tomorrow. The Lady Bearcats are the south division champion and will not play until Thursday at 4 p.m.

Three more runs scored before the first inning ended and the Lady Bearcats beat the Lady Pirates 16-1 in a game shortened to three innings.

Turner, Lunsford, and Layla Byrum (shown) all doubled and Smithson and Lexi Franklin both singled before there was an out. There were also a pair of errors four walks and a hit batter.

The lone second inning run came on a single by Turner, who was the only Lady Bearcat with a multiple hit game and drove in three. She also pitched the final inning.

Lexi Franklin pitched the first two innings and also drove in three.
Driving in two were Smithson and Karmen Kent.

Lyddia Franklin scored three times and Roni Tillery, Byrum, Leigh Swint, and Lunsford all scored twice.

The Lady Bearcats will close out the regular season today by hosting Dardanelle.
