Hall Qualifies For State Meet In Five More Events

With Trace Hall already qualified for the state track meet in the 100-meter dash, he was not entered in that event in the Monday’s District 3A-4 meet in Waldron.

Hall was entered in six others and, by placing first or second in five of them, is now state qualified in six events.

In all, the Bearcats have 10 qualified for next Tuesday’s Class 3A state meet in Lincoln while accumulating 188 points in the meet to finish runner-up to Waldron.

Hall won the 200-meter dash (shown) with a time of 23.18, beating the second place finisher by .01. Dax Goff was fourth in the event at 24.55, Dunn Daniel was fifth at 24.85, and Brooks Herrera was sixth at 24.93.

Both the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relay teams won their events and Hall running a leg for both squads.

The quartet of Hall, Herrera, Rocky Ross, and Goff won the 4x100 with a time of 45.29 and the same quartet won the 4x200 with a time of 1:36.40.

Hall placed second in the long jump with a 20’ 10” mark to earn a spot in that field and Goff was third at 20’ 9”.

Hall also led a field of four Bearcat finishers in the 110-meter hurdles, placing second with a time of 16.82. Rayce Blansett was fourth at 18.87, Jace Washburn was fifth at 18.91, and Trevor Karow was eighth at 20.41.

Hall was also fourth in the pole vault, clearing 10' 6” and the Bearcats also had Karow place seventh at 9’ 6", and Washburn eighth at an even 9 feet.

Herrera qualified in a third event by placing second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.54, edging out Dunn Daniel in third at 11.68 and Goff in fourth at 11.72.

Two throwers also earned berths with Chase Plymale winning the discus with a toss of 115’ 9” and Rylen Ray going second at 111’ 6”. Demari Poole was also fifth in the event at 105’ 6”.

Ray scored a second qualification with a shot put of 40’ 7.75” and Poole was also sixth in that event at 39’ 0.25”.

Also qualifying with a second in the 4x800-meter relay were Garrick Barr, Cheoktah Blythe, Ky Scantling, and Wesley Fonseca with at time of 11:28.09.

In other field events Ross was third in the high jump clearing 6’ with Dakota Mattson fifth at 5’ 8”, and Washburn seventh at 5’ 4”; and Goff was third in the triple jump at 38’ 3.5” with Herrera fifth at 37’ 2.5”.

The 300-meter hurdles saw Washburn take fourth at 49.05 and Karow eighth at 52.98.

In the distance events Mattson was sixth in the 800-meter run at 2:32.56 with Fonseca seventh at 2:32.80, and Pablo Ferrer was seventh in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:45.19.

Daniel ran a 55.98 400-meter dash to take third and the 4x400-meter relay team of Scantling, Blythe, Barr, and Fonseca was fourth with a time of 4:26.15.
