The Booneville Lady Bearcats and Atkins were scheduled to face one another on April 11, but the game was cancelled.

In the decisive inning an infield single was followed by a pair of throwing errors on would be sacrifice bunts and Atkins had taken a 1-0 lead with no outs.

A ground ball and a two out single got two more across and a two-run home run made it 5-0.

It stayed that way until the Lady Bearcat fourth when, with two down, Brooke Turner, Joleigh Tate and Hayley Lunsford – all seniors playing what would be their final game, as was Caroline Smithson – singled in succession with Lunsford driving in Turner and it was 5-1.

A walk, stolen base, ground ball and a sacrifice fly got the run back for Atkins in the sixth and it was 6-1.

Two hits, a walk, and an error got another run for Atkins in the seventh to make it 7-2.
