Brooke Turner. who recently signed to play softball for the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain, has been invited to play in the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All Star Games.
Turner will have a familiar face in the dugout as Lady Bearcat Head Coach Ronnie Denton will be the head coach of the West squad on Friday, June 24, as was announced on May 23.
Denton has been the Lady Bearcat head coach for six years. Over the last two seasons his teams are 51-6.
Set for the Ferris Fields Complex at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, the games are being held for the first time since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the 26-2 Lady Bearcat season Turner hit .450 with 10 doubles and drove in 35, second most on the club. She drew 13 walks, also second on the team, boosting her on base average to .542.
The third baseman also a fielding percentage of .926.
Turner had three hits in six at bats with three RBI during the state tournament. She also had a steal of home.
A third member of the 2021 team will also be on hand as Lexi Franklin was selected to be the West manager.
Joleigh Tate, who has also signed to play at UARM, could have been the fourth to sport the Lady Bearcat purple but was unable to accept an invitation to play, according to Denton.
