The 2022 football season opens tonight with a road game between a pair of schools who made the postseason in 2021 and who have crossed paths in the postseason a couple of times as the Bearcats will travel to Pine Bluff to face Dollarway High School.

The Dollarway game was the last one to be set for Head Coach Doc Crowley as the Bearcats were tabbed for a Hootens.com kickoff classic game but multiple pairings fell through.

The Bearcats prepared for the game with a scrimmage at Dardanelle last week, winning 30-14 as Trace Hall scored on three carries that totaled 172 yards and Dax Goff added another 61 yards on the ground in a half of football.

With the videogame like numbers from Hall, the Bearcats averaged 11.1 yards per play. But, Dardanelle also accumulated 232 yards on its 36 plays, 6.6 yards per snap.

The Bearcats, however, did cause three turnovers, recovering a fumble and picking off two passes.

Dollarway, 5-5 in 2021, reportedly did not take part in a scrimmage game.
