When the cross country squads take off today on the course in Magazine they will do so under the tutelage of Ronnie Denton, who was also leading the program in 2021.
That's a trend that started with golf and has continued with the Bearcat volleyball, football, and tennis teams.
That trend will also continue throughout the school year as every sport is being led by the same head coach who was leading the way during 2021-2022.
In fact, not a single coaching change occurred on the staff. Every assistant coach is also back with the district and in the same role as a year ago. Every administrator is back in their same position as a year ago.
Athletic director Josh Walker says it is extremely rare for any school to see zero turnover these days.
He is, of course, delighted staffing changes were not an issue.
“At Booneville we are blessed with a great group of hardworking coaches,” Walker said. “I am excited to have the same coaches back this year as we continue to make Booneville the best place to be! Go Cats!”
