Natalie Blankenship made a late push to pass an opponent on the way to a 21st place finish at the Magazine Invitational, the opening run for the Bearcat cross country program.

Blankenship, a sophomore, was the only Lady Bearcat runner in the field.

All levels at the event ran 1.5 miles.

Zayla Honey was the lone Junior Lady Bearcat runner at the event. Honey ran to a 16th place finish in that division.

The junior boys had a full team contingent with five runners, all eighth graders, and were led by Taylor Shaver who was 15th, one place in front of teammate Sean Pennington.

Hunter Pollard checked in in 40th and Cadon Miller in 57th. Cooper Lentz completed the field for the Junior Bearcats.

Runners are next scheduled to hit the trails in Acorn next Tuesday.
