The Booneville Seventh Grade Bearcats scored twice in the first seven minutes in West Fork last night and rolled to a 24-6 win over the Tigers.

Both touchdowns came courtesy of Hayden “H.D.” Daniel. Daniel slipped and lost 3 yards on the first play of the game then went 73 yards on the next play.

Sadler Miller added a two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead.

Joshua Gonzalez caused a fumble on West Fork’s first offensive play and Abraham Dominguez recovered it for the Bearcats (3-1).

An illegal block penalty – the Bearcats had 47 yards in penalties in the first half – wiped out a lot of a Callen Montalvo run but Daniel raced 31 yards for a touchdown on the next play and it was 16-0.

Caiden Poore (shown) ran for the two-point conversion.

Daniel ran seven times for 151 yards.

A Braxton Hubble sack only slowed the Tigers momentarily on their next possession, and a 45-yard run cut the Bearcat lead to 16-6 with nine minutes left in the first 20-minute running clock half.

Penalties and one of the Bearcats' two lost fumbles helped to keep it 16-6 through the rest of the half.

Hubble also had a second sack before the half ended.

Montalvo ran 41 yards for a Bearcat touchdown on their first offensive play of the second half then he added the two-point conversion for a 24-6 lead.

Montalvo had 61 yards on three carries.

Lathen Shaffer, Braxton Ritchie, and Braelen Lewis all logged carries as the Bearcats were coasting to the win.

The Bearcats will face Greenland next Thursday at Bearcat Stadium. The game will be streamed live on www.boonevillebearcats.com.
