IT'S GAME DAY

With back-to-back 600-plus total yards games, offense has not been a problem for the Booneville Bearcats the past two weeks.

The Bearcats gained 616 at Hackett on September 23 and followed that up with 601 more against West Fork last Thursday. Prior to the last two outings there had been only two 600-yard offensive nights in program history.

Offense has never also been a problem in the Booneville-Greenland series, although the sample size is a relatively small four games.

The 41 points scored by the Bearcats in the 2019 game (41-6) is the fewest in the series with 56, 62, and 49 in the first three meetings.

The teams combined for 96 points in 2018 (62-34), 80 in 2002 (56-24), and 70 in 2003 (49-21). Combined yardage in the 2002 game was 923 (554-369), in 2018 it was 850 (556-324), and in 2003 it was 718 (409-309).

This year the Bearcats come into the game at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in Conference 3A-1 play after Friday’s win over West Fork, which included a school record 307 rushing yard performance by Dax Goff.. The Pirates are 3-2 and 1-1 after taking down previously unbeaten Mansfield last week, 19-13.
